When you have earned RAID’s Normoxic Decompression Instructor, you have proved your commitment to your craft as a technical diving professional. This rating allows you to teach and certify divers conducting open-circuit trimix decompression dives to 60 metres following RAID’s proven and respected technical standards. Normoxic mixed gas contains at least 18 percent oxygen and can be breathed on the surface; therefore, it does not require a travel gas. However, managing multiple cylinders is a serious challenge and part of this program’s skill set.

SKILLS (WHAT YOU’LL LEARN)

Dives to 60 metres require a personal take on the effects of gas density management on work or breathing, the importance of controlling END, and the ratio of time at depth to total ascent time and gas ceiling depth. Decompression staged decompression is a skill that balances precision with adjustments for a long list of variables. Passing on this knowledge is one of the critical instructional responsibilities you will be expected to take on.

As a RAID Normoxic Decompression Instructor, you’ll take students to 60 metres in variable conditions resulting in multi-gas decompression profiles acting as mentor in their journey close to the limits of established (and sanctioned) technical diving.

To get started, all you need to do is register with RAID and create an online profile by clicking here. Once registered, you can purchase the course online in our “Store”, and then start reading the manuals and complete the quiz and exam. Once registered, you will have immediate access to RAID’s unique FREe-Learning platform, where you can download your course and start your academic training immediately. FREe-Learning allows you to download the manuals and complete all the associated quizzes. Once you have done this, you will need to contact your local RAID Dive Center to schedule your course and let them guide you through the training process. Once you have agreed all associated fees, your dive center will open the full training program so that you can complete any exams, have all your skills signed off, and receive your electronic certification card. Your RAID online course includes all your training materials, which you can access for life. Upon completion, your internationally recognized electronic certification will be issued.
