NORMOXIC TRIMIX: EQUIPMENT INTENSIVE AND HANDFULS OF RESPONSIBILITY

There are dive sites that demand a high level of skill and experience from visitors, and divers at this level have earned those rights.
This open circuit technical program teaches the use of a helium-based bottom mix with a minimum oxygen content of 18 percent.that can be breathed from the surface to a maximum target depth of 60 metres using twinset or sidemount primary cylinder configurations.
Divers on this course use three optimized decompression gases, including up to 100% oxygen for efficient off-gassing. Staged ascents must be perfectly timed with controlled gas switches and excellent team communications.

Next step: HYPOOXIC TRIMIX #4 in New Tech Pathway.
Recommended prerequisite course: ADVANCED DECOMPRESSION #2
OVERVIEW OF COURSE STANDARDS
This course is designed to train Students to safely:
- Dive to a maximum depth of 60 metres /200 feet.
- Use air, nitrox, oxygen and trimix.
- Complete planned decompression.
o Divers must have sufficient volume to complete a safe ascent, including the required decompression plus
one-third reserve to share gas with a buddy. - The END/EAD for trimix must not exceed 30 metres / 100 feet.
- Use a higher oxygen content nitrox (up to 100% oxygen) in up to 3 separate stage cylinders to optimize decompression dive
times.
o Bottom gas may have a maximum PO2 of 1.4 at depth.
o Decompression gas may have a maximum PO2 of 1.6 at depth.
