ADVANCED

STATIC APNEA (Launched April 2024)

DYNAMIC APNEA (Launched May 2024)

RAID TRY FREEDIVING

The “Try Freediving” course offers an in-depth introduction to the sport of freediving, focusing on essential skills, safety, and proper techniques. It covers the history and evolution of freediving, the key elements necessary for success, and the various competitive disciplines. The course emphasizes the importance of proper breathing, relaxation, and safety protocols to prevent hypoxic fits and blackouts. Practical sessions include static and dynamic apnea exercises, with detailed instructions on buddying and rescue techniques. The course aims to provide a solid foundation for beginners, encouraging safe and enjoyable freediving experiences while preparing participants for further training and open water diving.

RAID ADVANCED FREEDIVER

The RAID Advanced Freediver Course is designed to enhance the skills and knowledge gained in the RAID Open Water Freediver course, focusing on improving equalization techniques, lung functionality, and safety measures. The course covers various aspects of freediving, including the effects of pressure on the lungs, thoracic stretching, free fall techniques, and the use of lanyards for safety. It also delves into the risks and management of decompression sickness, hypoxia, and blackouts, providing practical steps to avoid these conditions. Additionally, the course includes dry training methods like CO2 and O2 tables to help freedivers acclimate to higher CO2 levels and lower O2 levels, respectively. The course aims to build confidence, enhance relaxation, and ensure safety, preparing freedivers to dive deeper and more efficiently.

RAID DYNAMIC APNEA - POOL

The RAID Dynamic Apnea Specialty course is designed to teach freedivers the techniques and safety protocols for dynamic apnea, a discipline involving horizontal underwater swimming while holding one’s breath. The course covers essential aspects such as relaxation, proper breathing techniques, avoiding hyperventilation, and recovery breathing. It also delves into the specifics of dynamic apnea with bi-fins and without fins, including starting positions, finning techniques, arm positioning, and turning in a pool. Additionally, the course emphasizes the importance of buddying, recognizing and managing hypoxia and blackouts, and constructing effective practice sessions. The goal is to help freedivers improve their performance safely and progressively while enjoying the sport.

RAID OPEN WATER FREEDIVER

The RAID Open Water Freediver course is designed for both beginners and experienced divers, offering comprehensive training to safely explore underwater environments. The course provides two levels of certification: Foundation Freediver and Open Water Freediver, with the possibility of upgrading between levels. It covers various freediving disciplines, including Constant Weight, Free Immersion, and Dynamic Apnea, among others. The course emphasizes relaxation over athletic conditioning and includes historical insights and contributions from notable freedivers. It aims to equip students with the necessary skills and knowledge in a safe and supportive learning environment.

RAID MASTER FREEDIVER

The RAID Master Freediver course is designed to refine and enhance the core skills of freediving, focusing on advanced techniques such as mouth-fill Frenzel equalization, Functional Residual Capacity (FRC) freediving, and thoracic stretching. The course emphasizes the importance of mastering the four key elements of freediving—conserving oxygen, equalization, flexibility, and safety—while also incorporating training in various environments like pools, open water, and dry land. It covers essential safety protocols, blackout management, and the benefits of a balanced diet tailored for freediving. The program aims to equip freedivers with the knowledge and skills necessary for safe and successful deep diving, ensuring a lifetime of freediving enjoyment and proficiency.

RAID STATIC APNEA - POOL

The RAID Static Apnea Specialty course is designed to teach freedivers the techniques and safety protocols for static breath holding, a mentally demanding discipline in freediving. The course covers essential aspects such as proper breathing techniques, relaxation methods, and mental focus strategies to improve breath hold performance. It emphasizes the importance of avoiding hyperventilation, understanding the body’s response to increased CO2 levels, and practicing safe recovery breathing. Additionally, the course includes training on buddying, communication, and rescue techniques to ensure safety during static apnea sessions. Through structured practice sessions and visualization techniques, participants learn to enhance their breath hold times progressively and safely.

RAID POOL FREEDIVING INSTRUCTOR

The RAID Freediver Pool Instructor Course is designed for certified RAID Scuba Instructors who have completed the Foundation Freediver course, Static Apnea Specialty, and Dynamic Apnea Specialty pool courses. This course equips instructors with the skills to teach and manage freedive pool sessions, including Try Freediving, Surf Survival, Static Apnea Specialty, and Dynamic Apnea Specialty courses, as well as supervise confined water training for qualified freedivers. The curriculum covers essential topics such as risk management, teaching techniques, rescue procedures, and dynamic and static apnea disciplines. Candidates must meet specific prerequisites, including current teaching status, medical fitness, and completion of online quizzes and exams. The course emphasizes safety, proper technique, and effective student engagement to ensure a comprehensive and safe learning environment for freediving students.
